The Great Dane is a gentle giant. Dignified, kind, sweet and affectionate, it is playful and patient with children. It loves everyone and needs to be around people. The Great Dane does not bark much and only becomes aggressive when the circumstances require it. He is the tallest of dog breeds with his great size and well-formed muscled body. Despite his large size he should not be kenneled but kept indoors as a member of the family. He truly loves the comforts of home and you may find him sleeping in your big easy chair.
