  The Bernese mountain dog is gentle, cheerful and loves children. They are very intelligent, easy to train and are natural watchdogs, but not overly aggressive. The Bernese mountain dog is a striking, tri-colored, large dog that thrives in cold weather. Because of his heavy coat he does not do well in very hot or humid climates. A sweet character in nature he is an outgoing, affectionate and is very loyal to his family.
